Abstract

|
|
A case report of chronic Iymphocytic leukemia is presented together with a review of
literature. A 65 year old Korean female was admitted to the Department of Internal
Medicine of Maryknoll Hospital on July 9th, 1986 due to fever and chilly sensation for a
day before hospitalization. Physical examination revealed pale conjuctivae, multiple
variable sized Iymph nodes and hepatosplenomegaly. Hematologic study disclosed
hemoglobin 5.4 gm/dl, platelet 9000/㎣, and WBC 17400/㎣ with 90% of lymphocytes.
Bone marrow study showed almost small mature lymphocytes. Also urinalysis and
culture indicated many WBC and E. coli. The patient was treated with
cyclophosphamide, vincristine and prednisone.
